This little hat is made to coordinate with my Railroad train Track Baby Blanket. Instructions are given in several sizes. The sleepers are formed by elongated stitches that are picked up on the opposite runway. This is the direct needle version of this pattern.

Cabled Infant Hats

Both of these hats begin with the aforementioned ribbing. Chapeau I is a more unproblematic pattern since the cabling is contained in the repeat expanse. I would recommend having experience with both knitting in the circular and with cabling before attempting Hat II. Because the cabling is beyond the unabridged hat, on some rows stitches will demand to exist shifted betwixt needles to suit cable stitches.
