OBU Spousal relationship and Family Therapy Degree Plan

The Marriage and Family Therapy graduate program at Oklahoma Baptist University trains students to provide therapeutic services from a relational and systemic perspective in counseling agencies, schools, hospitals, churches, on the mission field and in private practise. OBU'southward MFT graduate program equips students to apply their professional skills in order to bring healing to families, couples and individuals. The MFT Program also equips students to understand the part that religion plays in clients' lives and relationships.

Our mission is to train students in a relational and systemic approach in order to equip spousal relationship and family unit therapists for the empathetic, upstanding exercise of therapy with a various, multi-cultural and global society.

The graduate program in Union and Family Therapy at Oklahoma Baptist University is designed to see the needs of higher graduates who desire training in matrimony and family therapy that will prepare them to employ for professional person certification or licensure and clinical membership in the American Clan for Marriage and Family unit Therapy (AAMFT).

The program teaches students to implement relational, systemic approaches in the practice of union and family therapy. The program also helps students consider how personal faith and a Christian perspective­ and values can inform their MFT practice across a diverseness of settings. Information technology focuses on both academic course work and supervised clinical ­experience with individuals, couples and families under a variety of clinical conditions. It endeavors to establish a professional part identity for the family therapist equally a clinician who tin piece of work both in private and public domains, and in institutional as well equally outpatient sett­ings. OBU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Clan. This regional accreditation allows graduates of the MFT Program to pursue licensure as a marriage and family therapist in a number of states and jurisdictions. Out of 41 students active in the 2021-2022 fiscal year, in that location are 6 males and 35 females. The plan's racial diversity distribution is 30 White/Non-Hispanic, 2 Hispanic/Latino, 3 African/African-American, three Native American, three Multi-Ethnic.

The program has two core kinesthesia and a clinic managing director (vacancy): 1 male and 1 female, i White/Non-Hispanic and 1 African American.

The program currently has 7 clinical supervisors: two male and 5 female, 6 White/Non-Hispanic and i African American.

Based on our 2019 survey data and updates from our MFT graduates, 96% of responding graduates take found employment in the field of MFT. 100% of our responding graduates who have taken the National MFT Exam have passed.
